Weather in Bangkok
Bangkok doesn't do mild. The city operates at a volume — heat, humidity, noise, colour — that has no European equivalent. The three seasons are hot (March–May), wet (June–October), and cool (November–February). 'Cool' means 25°. The wet season isn't grey and drizzly — it's dramatic afternoon downpours that last an hour and then stop. Life continues around them.
Best time to visit
November to February. Lower humidity, temperatures around 28–32°, clear skies.
What to know
The wet season (June–October) brings daily afternoon storms around 3–5pm. Morning activities are unaffected. The heat index — how it feels with humidity — is always higher than the temperature reading.
"Bangkok rain is spectacular and brief. Most locals carry a small umbrella not for protection but for the five minutes it takes to find cover."
